Waiting families

Family looking to adopt 4

Tyler + Shelby

Hello, we’re Tyler and Shelby, and we’re truly excited to build our family through the gift of adoption. We believe our story is being written with purpose. Through seasons of waiting and growth, God has gently led us to adoption, placing a deep love for a child we haven’t yet met onto our hearts.

We were both born and raised in Colorado, growing up in families that deeply valued the importance of staying close and connected. That strong foundation has shaped who we are today, and it’s something we intentionally carry into adulthood and will pass down to the family we hope to raise. We met in 2015 on a cabin trip with friends. It didn’t take long for us to recognize that God was writing our story. What we found in each other felt intentional and certain, and we knew we were being led to walk through life side by side. An answered prayer in every sense. Through life’s highs and lows, we felt God guiding us to Wyoming. Leaving family behind was difficult, but we trusted His plan and found excitement in what He had ahead for us.

When we moved to Wyoming, we found jobs that truly gave us fulfillment. Shelby works as a nurse and loves caring for people of all ages, with pediatrics being her favorite. Tyler works at a chemical plant where he is constantly challenged to solve many different kinds of problems alongside his team of engineers and technicians. We both genuinely love the work we do and take great pride in serving others through our careers.

In 2020, we were married, surrounded by our families, lifelong friends, and the Wyoming community that had quickly become an extension of family. After getting married, we were excited to begin building our family, but we faced many challenges with infertility. We met with OB and fertility specialists, and even with the help of medications, we were unable to conceive. What initially felt like heartbreak slowly began to shift our perspective. It helped us release our own timeline and open our hearts to what God had planned for us. Adoption had always been something we talked about, but it was through that season of grief and uncertainty that we clearly saw where God was leading us. He placed a deep conviction on our hearts to pursue adoption and, at the same time, gave us a peace that reassured us this was the path we were meant to follow.

In 2023, we felt incredibly blessed to step into our own little slice of heaven, starting a hobby homestead. With chickens, our 3 dogs; Wesson, Bella, Daisy, and a big garden we enjoy caring for, it’s a place where we see God’s goodness in everyday life, with room to continue growing. With the homestead we took on some homestead hobbies such as making our own bar soap and lotions and raising our own food. When we’re not busy on the homestead, we’re often in the mountains doing what we love most; camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. We also love traveling to visit family across different states. We enjoy playing golf and hockey. We love anything that keeps us active and enjoying life together.

We want you to know how deeply honored we are that you would even consider us in such an important and personal decision. We see the strength, courage, and love it takes to walk this path, and we have so much respect for you. Your choice comes from a place of deep love for your baby, and we would never take that lightly. If chosen, we promise to love your child wholeheartedly, to nurture who they are, raise them with endless love and support.
