Board Member

For more than thirty years, Jillian Balow has worked on behalf of children, families, and K-12 education as a teacher, administrator, and elected official. She served as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction in Wyoming and Virginia until 2023. Currently, Jillian serves as an advisor to executive leaders and organizations, guiding strategic planning, policy, and long-term impact. She has been married for over thirty years to John and they have two adopted grown children, plus two granddaughters. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming, a master’s from Regis University, and an executive business and leadership certification from Duke University. Jillian has been actively involved with WCS as a gala volunteer and is grateful for many lifelong friendships built through the organization. A fifth-generation Wyomingite, Jillian is from Gillette and resides in Cheyenne.
