Waiting families

SHORTY + CAITLIN
Hello,
Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents. We already have so much respect for you and can’t begin to imagine how you are feeling in this moment. We are grateful to be considered and want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little bit better.
Caitlin grew up in South Dakota on her family’s cattle ranch. She spent her childhood surrounded by nature and animals, which continues to influence her interests and hobbies now. She has a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She loves children and works in a pediatric clinic. She treats children with or without a medical diagnosis helping them reach their full potential. She has extra training in the treatment of sensory processing challenges, and she has a good understanding of child development. Shorty’s real name is Warren, but he prefers to go by Shorty since it is the nickname he has had since grade school. He also grew up in South Dakota but has called Wyoming home since completing his associate’s degree in electrical trades in 2015. He currently works as an electrician in a coal mine. He enjoys his job and the flexible hours conducive to family life. When he is not at work he enjoys grilling, tinkering on things in the garage, and home projects.
We started dating when we were in high school. Caitlin was hesitant at first, but now she’s glad that Shorty was persistent. We dated for years long distance while we both completed college. Shorty moved to Wyoming to start working while Caitlin finished her degree in North Dakota. We got married on a beautiful summer day in July 2020. Through our infertility journey, we discovered just how strong our marriage is. We know that we can always count on each other and that we can get through the hard times together. We enjoy the life that we have created in Wyoming. We have a home on a 40-acre property outside of town. We love the peace, quiet, and wide-open spaces that country life allows us and can’t wait to share this lifestyle with a child.
We like to spend as much of our free time as possible enjoying nature. We enjoy trips to the mountains to go fishing and hiking or a day at the lake boating and swimming. We also enjoy just spending time at home. We like to garden in our greenhouse and work on landscaping projects around our home. We have two kitties and a few more than two chickens. In the Spring you will often hear Caitlin say, “Those baby chicks just jumped in my shopping cart and came home with me.” But we do love getting fresh eggs every day! We are so excited to include a child in all our favorite things.
All of our family lives within a few hours drive from our home. Our family is very supportive of adoption. To say that they are excited for us is an understatement! We are so excited to grow our family and feel blessed to have the opportunity to adopt. Thanks again for taking the time to learn more about us and consider us as adoptive parents. We are grateful for you.
