Family looking to adopt 4

GUNNAR + JESS

Hello,

We’re Gunnar and Jess, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be considered as adoptive parents. Making a choice for a child to be loved and raised by others is something that we consider to be a monumental sized gift – for both the child and adoptive parents. Thank you for taking a moment to learn about us and see if we might be the loving home you desire for your child.

While we unsuccessfully attempted to have biological children, we have always discussed and considered adoption as a way to share our love and family with a child and others. We have been married for 5 years, but our families have known each other for 75 years! We love to laugh, so not a day goes by that we aren’t enjoying a comical moment with each other, or our parents or siblings.

Jess attended one of the local high schools and went on to college where she ultimately obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Healthcare Management. She works in State Government for the Department of Education facilitating federal education grant funds to assist children from a variety of circumstances and with a variety of needs. She has two sisters, one step-sister, and one step-brother. all of them have children of their own that Jess is very close to, and it is not uncommon to hear her called “fun aunt Jess” or “mom 2.0”.

Gunnar attended high school in their hometown and then went to college to study Political Science. He works in Real Estate and is also an elected official in local government. He is so proud of his community, and enjoys serving the residents. He also makes a strong impression with his friend’s kids, and is “uncle Gunnar” to kids near and far. Gunnar has one sister, and is close with cousins that live in Wyoming and their kids.

We have two very spoiled and loved dogs, Zio and Aniston, and enjoy taking them on walks and to Gunnar’s family’s home where Zio LOVES to get herself dirty by taking dips in the pond. We also enjoy traveling when we are able to, exploring new things and foods, and spending time with our families and friends. Jess loves the art of dance and was in dance classes from elementary grades through college and beyond. And, despite lacking rhythm, Gunnar tries to dance with her whenever she asks. Gunnar loves golf, and Jess will occasionally ride along in the golf cart.

We want the best for every child that we know, and we believe that guidance, structure, and never ending love and support are the keys to helping a child discover who they are and then celebrate it. In our home, a child will have space to explore new things, a safe place to make mistakes, lots and lots of laughter, and holidays that are fun and a bit unique (Easter Olympics is a fun event Jess created- even grandparents can’t wait to fully participate). We appreciate you taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents, and want you to know that we recognize what a difficult decision this is. We admire your courage in considering your child’s future, and would be honored to be selected to give them a loving home.
