Waiting families

Family looking to adopt 4

BRIAN + ASHLEY

Hello!

Thank you so much for looking at us as a potential family for your little one. We are Ashley and Brian. We don’t know you yet, but our hearts are full of love and gratitude for you. We would love to tell you about our family, and we welcome any questions you may have.

We met in 2015 and have been married since 2017. Ashley loves Brian for his kindness, calm and steady nature, and his devotion to family. Brian loves Ashley for her fierce love of family, her generous spirit and her caring heart.

Becoming parents has always been important to both of us. Ashley has a condition which often causes infertility, so we started infertility treatment as soon as we were married. This had the best ending when our beautiful baby boy Rowan was born in 2019. Ashley’s pregnancy was complicated, and Rowan came early and required a stay in the NICU. Rowan’s birth and time in the NICU was the hardest, scariest thing we have ever experienced. It taught us a lot and really strengthened our family. We want nothing more than to have another child and for Rowan to be a sibling. Rowan is a bright, sweet, funny boy who we know will make a great big brother. After a lot of careful thought, we made the decision that trying for another pregnancy was not the right choice for our family. We knew we didn’t want that to be the end- we also know giving birth is only one way to have a child. Ashley’s sister has adopted 3 wonderful children with the help of WCCS and Ashley’s best friend also adopted through WCCS. So we knew just where to turn next!

Brian is a native of Portland, OR. He works as a network engineer for a cell phone company. Ashley is a fourth generation Wyomingite. She has her bachelor's and master’s degree in social work. She is now a stay-at-home mom to Rowan, which is better than any job she can imagine. Ashley’s and Rowan’s favorite things to do together are library time and swimming. Brian loves reading to Rowan and playing in the backyard. As a family, we like adventuring to the zoo and museums. We own a two-story home with four bedrooms across the street from an elementary school and are close to a park with a playground and walking path.

We value family time and are lucky to have Ashley’s extended family in town. Rowan adores spending time with his grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. Brian’s family is in Oregon, and we see them as often as possible. When we visit Oregon, our favorite thing to do is visit the coast.

In the summer, you will find us in the mountains with our two rescue dogs, Hazel and Olive. Brian loves to fish and is looking forward to teaching Rowan and a new sibling. We love to play board games and do puzzles. Rowan is already great at both! Ashley likes to be creative and do craft projects. We love to travel and are so excited to take Rowan and a sibling to as many places as we can manage.

We want you to know your child will be loved more than it is possible to say. They will know where they came from and how the choice for adoption was the greatest gift of love you could ever give them. We are very open to a relationship with you now and in the future, if that is something you might want. We can’t wait to start this journey with you.
