The Wyoming Department of Family Services
The Wyoming Children’s Society is the oldest licensed adoption agency in Wyoming. Wyoming Children’s Society is duly licensed by Wyoming DFS www.dfsweb.state.wy.us, the state licensing authority for private non-profit child welfare agencies.
The Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation
The Wyoming Children’s Society is one of a limited number of U.S. adoption agencies accredited by the Russian Federation to facilitate the adoption of Russian orphans by U.S. families. Accredited since 2001, Wyoming Children’s Society is a full service agency providing home study, placement preparation, dossier services and post placement support to adoptive families with Russian children.
The Council on Accreditation
The Council on Accreditation is the premier accrediting organization for social service agencies in the United States and many countries abroad. The Wyoming Children’s Society is an accredited agency through the Council on Accreditation www.coanet.org for domestic adoption, inter-country adoption, and pregnancy support services. COA-accredited agencies meet rigorous standards of practice and are committed to program integrity and excellence.
Children’s Home Society of America
The Wyoming Children’s Society is one of 24 member agencies of Children’s Home Society of America www.chsamerica.org. The Children’s Home Society of America members are leading organizations serving children and families in communities throughout the U.S. While services provided by our members vary, each strives to improve the lives of vulnerable children. Member agencies hold these core service goals in common:

The Wyoming Confidential Intermediary Program
The Wyoming Children’s Society is a founding member and continuing leading influence in the Wyoming Confidential Intermediary Program, a statutorily created program that permits access to adoption records by a court appointed intermediary when a reunion is sought by mutually willing adoptees and their birth parent(s). Wyoming Children’s Society assists in training and assistance to court appointed intermediaries in the performance of their duties.
The Adoption Exchange
The Wyoming Children’s Society has supported The Adoption Exchange www.adoptex.org since its creation. The Adoption Exchange features photo listings of children available for adoption, as well as adoptive families waiting for placement, for the purpose of assisting public child welfare agencies in achieving permanency for children in foster care.
